Tomball House
Our clients—a family of four and their five beloved horses— live on 35 acres of rolling pasture. Their home is positioned to take full advantage of sweeping views across the land, with fencing that allows the horses to graze comfortably very near the house.A winding drive traces the tree line along the southern edge of the property, extending across the site while skirting open pasture. To ground the house within its setting, one end is nestled into the western tree line.
The design organizes private spaces within four stone volumes, arranged in a pinwheel pattern around the central public areas. Living, dining, and family rooms open outward with floor-to-ceiling glass, paired with an expressive timber structure of columns, beams, and exposed joists.
