Beginning in 1983, commissions for the Warren family have included two corporate offices, three houses, and this apartment.

To begin with, an existing two bedroom apartment with traditional room configurations was gutted to create open space. Then, a group of millwork elements was inserted to define and serve adjacent “room” functions: storage, display, lighting and air distribution.

In addition to the dining table designed by the architect and built for the space, rugs designed by the architect for the owner's previous house were cut and modified for use in the new apartment.
