Lummis House
Shelby, Texas
|
This weekend house for a family of five is located on a gently
sloping hillside. An existing barn, shed, and stone well stand
as a group of objects in the landscape. Three mature live oak
trees rest just below the building site. The house shares the
landscape with these elements by occupying the space between them.
The design treats repetitive and singular program components
by expressing them simply and separately. The resultant form creates
a variety of spaces and views integrated with the landscape.
